I think I started this in the wrong place so I will start again here... can I park in the lot by the library to go on a day trip to Chicago...how much does it cost and where do I pay?

Yes, Mrs. Speechlady, you can. I forget how much it costs - it says so in the lot; you have to walk up the Prairie Path to a little lock box by the corner of the library & deposit the amount in your parking number slot.

It was $1.25 last time I used it...which wasn't that long ago. I'd expect it's the same or close to it. Enjoy the ride! Smile

You can park in any lot for free after 10:30 and on weekends/holidays. Monday should be a no-pass required day. (95% sure of that time - but it may be earlier, 100% sure that the commuter lots are free after a set time)

The fine for parking in the commuter lots before that time is $10, not bad if you're really in a pinch.

I know some towns will issue a special day pass to use the commuter lots, but I don't think GE does.

I will try the lot by the library first and pay the daily fee- 1.25 is definately worth it. We need to park early in order to get down town for our activity.

The best way to travel by train, is traveling ON the train. The view is amazing and its better than any roller coaster ride!!

Hi, sorry I don't know about that. But I've been to travel guide spain and costa brava and like it very much. What do you think of that? If you want to go there, please tell me and I will share my experience on it with you.
