Does anyone know what the average class size is in D41?
I'm asking because a friend of mine has a son (in a completely different district) whose class size was recently increased to 37 students....for one teacher with no aide. This just sounds preposterous to me and I'm curious what everyone else thinks about it. Her son actually got knocked over in a mass exodus to flee the room the other day and his glasses were broken as a result. He's lucky he wasn't injured. I just think that this is a perfect example of why that many students to one teacher is an obnoxious ratio....thoughts?? Should I give up, or should I just keep chasing pavements....even if it leads nowhere - Adele |

Eyeballing and doing some quick math on this chart, the K-5 average looks like ~23.

Thanks, I kind of figured it was somewhere around there. Most districts that I've seen are in that general vicinity, was just looking for clarification.
