I have a middle schooler with a slight lisp ("s" and "z" sounds). Otherwise, he is a good student, and the teachers can understand him...so it was never addressed in school. I was under the (mistaken) impression that he would outgrow it. I would like to find a speech therapist in the area to get him some help over the summer (and beyond if necessary). I am thinking of a private therapist, but am open to all options. Any recommendations would be great.
*edited to clarify that I put this under District 41 because it is a school-age issue, but am really just looking for a private recommendation.thanks!
I am a school based speech pathologist. I might be able to work something out with you. My rates would be more reasonable than Easter Seals or a private practice.

Thank you side of FRYs for your input. I really appreciate it. At this point, I would like to try the private speech therapist route.
Mrsspeechlady, I would be very interested in talking to you about working with my son. (In fact, I had sent you a private message before posting this, but I don't think you saw it.) I will send a new one to you with my email address.
