Appreciative Inquiry is the topic of the board workshop on Monday, February 11. I guess all of those focus groups, etc. that were going to happen will now have a focus.
My employer wasted a ton of money on AI training/workshops/retreats/etc a couple of years back. Probably no better or worse than so much organizational relationship BS being marketed. Hey, who moved my cheese?
My vague recollection was that AI was especially heavy on offering follow-up services and such. I surely hope our schools aren't dumping too much $$$ down this hole.
Sure AI offers some decent common sense points of limited applicability to certain organizations. Focus on individuals' strengths and accomplishments, rather than simply criticizing their shortcomings. Which could essentially an inexpensively be set forth in a brief pamphlet.
