Any experiences good/bad? Now that the kid is in kindergarten I'm feeling like I should be a part of the experience somehow. Will membership hurt me when I run for school board president?

DTM
I would encourage you to get involved.
If you hold a position on your PTA and continue to be a vertebrate, you could very well be the next school board president.
I would also suggest going to the D-41 board meetings, starting with next Mondays, to listen in on how your educational tax dollars are being spent. You can say hi to your neighbor while you're there.

I echo Candidate's post, Dan.

If you do join, just take a pass on the Kool Aid during the refreshments. Wink

Do you have a copy of what FGM is being asked to do for their proposed fee of $79,830?
Is FGM publicly traded?
I cannot attend the meeting next Monday but I find this repulsive.
If we had every dime back that we spent with this company and of course a portable or six, this district would be on their way to some real building expansion/renovation projects if they become needed.
Let me know the outcome.

FGM is developing the "Facility Master Plan." It was mentioned on page 3 here with the timeline shown on page 23 (but the original copy was in color so it is not easy to read).

It looks like we are behind schedule, as I see that there was supposed to be a community forum sometime around now. I haven't heard of one scheduled to occur? Conveniently, the timeline ends a month before the spring election. That would be the one in which 4 board seats are up. Question: will there be a platform on which incumbents will run?

Is a platform part of the Facility Master Plan? Where would it be built? How big?
