My letter says my child is not yet assigned and that we won't find out until Startup Day...is that true for you as well?

I e-mailed the Principal and Counselor to find out why some students were told their teams and others were not. Am I out of line to think that they should either ALL find out or NONE find out?

We did not even get our letter here! They should be able to get the mailings to arrive on the same day. I am with you Amy- It should be ALL or NONE...and how hard is it to place a kid on a team? Ms. Welsh should know the teams well enough to be able to do that given the information she gets about each student.

We got ours for Hadley, but know several others mainly in the Lincoln area that haven't received theirs. I wonder if some were mailed out too soon? Usually they arrive in August.
That's really odd. Our letter did indicate my son't team (8-2) but said that they didn't yet know which teachers were going where. That, I can understand. Not having the kids divided up, though, is crazy.
I think they try to keep the teams relatively even. Much of it is probably just dealing the kids out to teams, unless a student has a special need like an IEP, ELL or need for a specific section then they may have to be on a specific team.

Well the mailman still has not brought the Hadley mailing. I called Hadley- voicemail told me to dial the central office 4 digit extension and central office told me to leave a message at Hadley- and fowarded my call back there...where I again listened to the message that stated I should enter the number to get to central office.

Don't know if 7-1 will be the same teachers as it was but my oldest child was on that team and LOVED her teachers! I shadowed and agree - they were all-in-all quality teachers. Hope you all have the same experience!

I got a response to my email- they said our letter should be her today or tomorrow- they were mailed Friday. I guess that it is hard to get all the way to Wheaton- just 2 blocks from the school. The email did tell us the team will be 6-1...of course her she wants to be with the friends that are all on 6-3....she is contacting everyone she knows at both elementary schools she attended to see if she can find some friends.

Not one to help the District, but I do mailings for a living and the Wheaton PO where yours and my parents mailings have to got to after GE is notoriously slow in handling. I prefer to go direct through Carol Stream Regional PO. This only speeds things up maybe 1 day though. GE mail is surprisingly speedy and efficient.
I got a response to my e-mail as well. My child is on 6-1. There are others your daughter knows that are on 6-1 though my son did say it seems like a lot of his friends are on 6-3. My daughter felt the same way when she started at Hadley and ended up with some great new friends as well as a few of the "tight" ones from FG. I'm sure it will be fine...though I am a bit anxious to find out who the teachers are on the team. Guess we will find that out on the Hadley Start Day. See you then if not sooner!

Still not here today Did a lot of teachers leave Hadley? Why would they not know which teacher was teaching which grade level or team. If a teacher is changing grade levels/ subjects they need to get familiar with the curriculum- It is already the end of July! Only 3 weeks left.
