To all; the same energy used in converging upon the assessors office to portest ones taxes should be equal or greater to public protest at the D41 offices. This is where the issue is. The assessor is only doing his/her job. For example, take your EAV and multiply it by 3. Would you sell your house for that amount??? Would you put it on the market at this price?

D41 has increased it's tax receipts by 18 million dollars in 6 years. The question is why and how???? Answer: the 5 year unauthorized PHASE IN of the 2001 ref which is artificially elevating the TAX RATE for the D41 taxpayer by $ 1.00.

Take that dollar and multiply it by your EAV and that's the amount of money D41 is confiscation from JOHN Q TAXPAYER every year, forever, without your permission.

Your wrath should be directed to the D41 offices and not the poor assessor.

Suggest you come to the next D41 board meeting which is tomorrow night I believe. Or, p/u the phone or write a letter telling the board you want your money back.
