If you are having trouble accessing Google and you use WOW, it's a WOW problem. Of course I didn't figure it out until after I did all the virus checks like Google suggested.
Make sure you complain to WOW so it gets fixed. The more that complain the faster they move.

The message I got was that Google thought my system was sending lots of search requests, and my system must be infected. I had no problem with Internet Explorer, but Firefox gave me the problem (that's the opposite of what I have read from forums)
I called WOW, but don't think it will do much good unless a lot of people complain.
The problem did go away after about 2 hours, but this is about the 4th time it has happened, each time resulting in a lot of wasted time, virus scanning, etc. etc.
FWIW, I use WOW and have had no Google problems (and I use it a lot) —
But... I don’t use WOW’s DNS service. (DNS meaning “Domain Name System” — the first stop between your keyboard and a web site. You enter a human-friendly name like, “Google.com” (the domain name), and your ISP’s DNS server looks it up and converts it to the number that is the real, computer-understandable address of the web page, e.g. “74.125.45.100”.
I use OpenDNS.com, superior to WOW’s (or most any other ISP’s) lookup service. (The wab site details why.)
It’s a little geeky to change your computer’s network settings, but if you can follow simple step-by-step instructions, you’re good to go.
Works for Macs and PCs, and doesn’t care what browser you’re using. Enjoy! —Ted E.

interesting...this issue has cropped up at my work place. Twice this week I have tried a google search and it asks me to validate my search by entering a text string.
