Does anyone have WOW's DVR product? THey are advertising on their web page that it is now available, but they do not have pricinig or detailed information available yet. Looks (from the demo) that it might be worth ditching the Tivo box and upgrading to this box (mainly because you'd have a built-in dual tuner without the need for doing a 'work-around' with the Tivo box).
We have it, and we love it. We were thinking about a TiVo but my tech head brother said that if we didn't have a satellite dish, DVR was the way to go. It was so easy - they just swapped cable boxes. We don't know how we lived without it. I don't know how TiVo works, but with DVR you can have two things going on at once - either taping two shows, or watching one and taping one - but not three, which might be a drawback for some. But you can still rewind live feed, and pause it, and the recording features are amazing. We may just get rid of the VCR for good.
Thanks! The Tivo is a great tool - anyone who watches 4 hours of TV per week can benefit from it. I am going to switch to the cable company, though, so that I can get the better functionality with the dual tuner. I had heard some stories that the box that WOW is using has had some recording errors, picture problems, etc., but I don't know how widespread it is. I have not heard it from anyone in GE.
Only once have we had a problem with it. One program it recorded had some glitch in it, and just froze after about ten minutes into watching it. But that was the only problem we've had, so far (we've had it for about a month and a half now).
