NC, we had Time Warner out here years ago before they merged with AOL. Shortly after that merger, they moved out of the area. I thought they'd gone out of business, but apparently not, lol. I'm inclined to agree with you about cable vs. satellite, though satellite can be good in the right areas. In regard to the fiber optic thing, it's funny that Sprint had such a difficult time with it. Comcasts major lines throughout the neighborhood are fiber optic (in most areas). I suppose it's more or less a matter of the protection and maintenance in place for the lines, I know they cost a fortune to replace. Should I give up, or should I just keep chasing pavements....even if it leads nowhere - Adele

I realized that I had only given the Speakeasy test to one computer, so I tested the mini Asus (fits in my purse) and retested the Dell laptop. 15915 down (Dell) 1105 up 9698 down (Asus mini) 1105 up I think we will stick with WOW for a little longer and see what happens.

Uverse installation today went flawless. 3 TV's, 6 MB internet (seems faster than my 8MB with WOW) and phone sounds good. Can't tell a difference from the landline. Haven't really had a chance to play around with the TV yet, but my 7 year old is loving it. The AT&T dude, as he called him, showed him how to use the remote. So, I will get the lesson later.
