We saw the three 3D Superbowl ads on a high-quality flat screen TV, but piped through a standard digital (but not hi-def) cable box.
VERY bad experience. Caught a little bit of 3D effect here and there, but the picture as viewed through the glasses was so dark it was virtually unwatchable.

Did anyone see it in true HDTV? If so — did it work any better? TIA! —Ted E.

I watched at a friends house in HD, however, he had left over Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D glasses and they didn't work so well.

After visiting this website for purchasing glasses, I can see why.

Looks like the 3D spots on the superbowl needed amber-blue shades. We had green-magenta...

I'm guessing the old school blue-red wouldn't have worked either.

Which ones did you have?

It's the spending, Stupid!

We used the 'correct“ glasses... picked them up from a Pepsi display Saturday.

They had tons of them at Caputo's — must have been a distribution problem, because a lot of people on various TV/HDTV blogs are complaining that they couldn't find any anywhere... other than on eBay.

I'm going to use the correct glasses tonight to watch Chuck and I'll see if they work, but I agree, the 3-D experience was less than impressive.
