Two issues.
1. Does the Wii interfere with my wireless network? Seems everytime that thing is on my connection either loses strength or is lost completely. 2. I know this may come as a shock to anyone who hasn't lived in a cave in Pakistan for the last 7 years, but I just downloaded Itunes yesterday. What a slow moving piece of crap that thing is. Now that I've made that statement tell me what the hell I'm doing wrong because no one would live with it the way mine works. Not only is it slow, but it likes to remove stuff from your ipod while it is doing the so-called "syncing." All I'm trying to do right now is take a game that is downloaded onto the computer and put it on my wife's 160 gig Ipod that her wonderful husband bought for her. I was able to easily put it on my hand-me-down 8 gig Ipod, but it won't allow it to be placed on her Ipod. FWIW, I tried putting it on her's first. I am a dyslexic agnostic insomniac. 1. It will take up bandwidth if connected via wireless. When active on the internet, it does create traffic. They do have a USB adapter for connecting wired using CAT5 that works nicely, but I would turn it off when not using the Wii. If you have a few computers, internet phone, and the Wii, definitely turn it off.
2. iTunes is the worst music organization software on earth. It is bloatware, it is not large collection friendly, and it has a few other issues with Genre and telling you what you like and think a genre is. It can criple a PC. If you want to just move music back and forth (sync) without using iTunes, I would HIGHLY suggest Anapod Explorer. It is a little add on software that goes right into Windows Explorer and is basically a simple task of picking a folder and hitting SYNC. If you are a multiple iPod home, or you have way more music than an iPod can hold, it is a must. I have 3 iPods, one Zune (which is 10x better than iPods FYI), 470gb of music and would never think of installing iTunes on my machine. ANAPOD EXPLORER - www.redchairsoftware.com , it is well worth the price. Makes life much easier. |

iTunes blasphemer.
FWIW, I have never experienced any of those problems, Fish. I assume you're using a PC? |

Agreed. I love iTunes.
I have a pretty average amount of songs on my MAC and use it for pretty average tasks. For that, it works wonderfully. Fish, get a new computer. You can afford it. I would suggest the 24in iMac so I can see it glowing from the northerly window in your house. "If you were the Governor of any other state, you would be a disgrace to that state." |

I've got a Sony Vaio laptop running Vista. It's only a few months old. Do you think Itunes just runs better on the mac's? Part of the problem is that I can't figure out how to take what's on my ipod and put it in Itunes.
Might need to pick up a mac laptop....which one and how much? I am a dyslexic agnostic insomniac. I lay awake at night wondering if there is a dog. |

You can get a standard macbook from $1200 - 1500 or a macbook pro from $2200-2700. I have the desktop though.

At our house there are three libraries of music, video, games, etc. operating off of a pre-Intel desktop Mac - and all is well. A quick search may help you locate the means to transfer your iPod content to your iTunes library. Those Mac geeks are very helpful.
Fish - find a teenager and they'll get you through most of it. Running iTunes on the PC was quite aggravating. Good luck! |

Hey Pot Fan, GEMom2 said I need to find a teenager...do you still qualify?

he can't ear you over the barking dogs. a newer G5 macbook pro runs both the mac OS X and PC platforms. freakin' amazing machines. you can literally toggle back and forth between platforms. stop by the apple store and be amazed. |

That does sound awesome - I suspect the kids already know about it. The oldest is waiting until college to invest in a new MacBook - good thing as the Word we have on the current Mac is limited. Until then, we'll have to switch from one computer to the other - Oh, the humanity!!!

Geez, spend $1200-$3000 on a Mac to get an iPod to work? Sounds like overkill to me. VISTA is your problem! Wipe the laptop and put XP back on it and you will be fine. I have a 5 year old PC with XP on it and sync my iPods with no problem. Hell Fish, I can give you a $100 machine that will sync your iPod better than a G5 with iTunes on it. An iPod is just an external hard drive with a tiny DB on it, it is not rocket science. I drop and drag files back and forth on the thing with this little Anapod Explorer software and it takes seconds. If I was to bring all 11,000+ CD's I own into iTunes, it would take FOREVER to organize, sync and burn music. 3 iPods (actually 2 since my original post, my boss dropped my original 2g and it is now left this mortal coil) and one Zune get syncd with no problems.
A Sony Vaio is a very solid machine, you don't need a new machine, seriously. Why waste money on a new machine when you have one that can do everything you want? But if you want to buy something, I will take the Vaio off your hands, I can use that baby for another 3 years without a problem. |

you have 11,000+ cds? 470GB of music? holy cow, i thought i was sitting pretty with 11,000+ tunes. . . btw, the mac/pc argument is old news and moot -- you're either in one camp or the other. but i will say one thing, in the 20+ years i've owned macs, i've never had to "wipe" an apple op system and replace it with an older version. i've heard this has happened with vista and (guessing here) windows 94. that is simply inexcusable. also, i can't say as i've heard of a mac user voluntarily switching to pc. i have heard of many pc users voluntarily switching their personal computers (non work) to macs. lastly, and unrelated, what do you think about the sox trading for swisher? one thing's for sure, it helps solidify my prediction that the cuban is playing second and not center. |

Kenny overpaid again TA.......You give up your two best arms, and a centerfielder that the sox seem to always ruin in sweeney. Sweeney will be a better centerfielder than the sox will ever be able to find and develop. They don't know how to evaluate and develop one......See, Arizona Diamondbacks center fielder for example....

We shall see. I like the trade. Like it alot.
Chris Young batted .230 this year? I like CY and dig my Diamondbacks as my favorite NL team, but CY would have batted .200 with the Sox in the AL. |

Someone needs to stop reading Jay so much. I don't understand this Kenny overpaid/got fleeced argument. He traded 3 minor leaguers to Oakland. One of them is an "A" level pitcher. One is going to be OK, and Sweeney never proved he could hit major league pitching. Go over the last few years. Who has come back to haunt you outside of Magglio? Remember, they won the World Series without him, and his replacement was the MVP of the Series. Traded Freddy Garcia, whose arm promptly fell off. Traded CY for Javier Vasquez. Maybe a wash, but pitching is much more important than young outfielders. He gets Uribe for Aaron Miles. Uribe (the fat pig) played great until he decided to throw his weight around in the DR. Then, he came in out of shape. Kenny remedies that by getting a great shortstop, and getting rid of Garland, who has always been on the block. Traded Aaron Rowand, one of the worst baserunners and the most overrated centerfielder since Ralph Garr, and all anyone can say is that they "lack the passion." Ronald M. Kas |

Well, the Sox could just spend money like no tomorrow like the cub, but how is that working for them?
99 years and counting. KW won a won a World Series in 2005, which before the year started, dumped Mags and Lee for a guy that stole a few bases. KW was beaten to death in the media, especially by one Phil "flip flop" Rogers (the worst sports reporter in Chicago hands down). They were projected to finish 4th in the AL Central, just like they are now. How did that turn out? If they pull any of the trade rumors with Konerko, they will be absolutely fine and give it a run. Konerko will forever be a Sox Legend, but he is at peak trade bait time, so pull the trigger and do it with the oriole, angel or whoever. Who wouldn't have made the trade getting rid of Aaron "fire and the passion" Rowand (at the time, .260 hitter) for Jim "Mr. Incredible" Thome? KW is not done yet as well. "My goal is to make this a Sox town, if I have to win multiple World Series, than that is what I will do." - KW after his first WS win. |

Well, considering I don't buy that bullshit paper called the suntimes, I don't have the opportunity to read Jay, thankfully. I guess we won't know for a couple of years whether Kenny got taken, hopefully, I will be around to see if that is the case. Let me ask you about Chris Young, would you liked to have had 32 HR's coming from your centerfielder? So what he struck out 141 times and batted only .237, but he hit 32 HR's. As for Cabrera, until Kenny signs him to a long term deal, that is a bad trade, because Garland is a good major league pitcher and innings eater....Let me know how Gavin Floyd does in terms of eating innings. My money is on Garland to have a better year..Rowand is completely overrated, and always out of position, hence the reason he has to hit is face into the outfield wall. Don't get me wrong, I like Swisher, I do, but if they put in him Centerfield, that will be the biggest mistake because he is not a centerfielder.. I hate Sox talk, but at least it is baseball talk.
