Amazing how this topic went from Internet addiction to small rodents.

I just want to know why the relatively mild word I used (starts with a "bas" and ends with a "tard") got "bleeped" and a lot worse has made it through.

You are not referring to "panzie" are you?

I said the same thing about the gerbils...(we were talked into gerbils because they were suppose to be nicer than hamsters.)...anyway we bought 2 females since they were better in pairs and wouldn't get lonely. (God were we suckers or what?)One died finally(after 5 years) and we were sure the other would kick within weeks, out of sheer lonliness....Here we are 2 years later checking to see if the rat has died yet. It will probably live longer than all of us because guess who takes care of it...you got it, the best care-taker in the world...MOM!

BIPY...I think Ted had that one set up as an automatic bleep a long time ago...then he got pissed and gave up...in the meantime, posters have gotten more creative.

Actually, the message board software comes with standard, built-in bleepable words, which I can replace with a custom list of naughty words. Since I went to an (almost) all male engineering college, and was also in the Army, I don't have time to type in all the bleepable ********* words I know.

So I elected to use the default built-in word list. Why it allows **** but not *** let alone *****, I do not know.
