Does anyone here have Wide Open West HD? I just got it and the picture is amazing, but there seems to be one issue. On certain stations there is like a black and white distortion that flickers at the very top of the screen.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? It only seems to be on the local HD stations, specifically FOX and CBS.

Does anyone every have trouble with the History Channel or the Golf Channel on WOW? We have regular, basic cable, and there are days when these channels come in very bright, where anything white on the screen flares.

I have WOW hd and have no problems. Picture is great. I am dissappointed that they have two tiers of HD service and the second tier is rather expensive. I have been a WOW user since the beginning and they are wonderful. Great price and service. Plus they have a great set top box that blows COMCASTs slow menu driven system away.

Bill, I just got the HD service and did notice that I don't get all the HD channels and did not know there were two tiers. I was gonna call about that too.

Actually, I was watching last night and the flickering issue only seemed to happen on the older programs, such as Seinfeld. But then something else came on that was actually HD and everything was fine. I guess I can live with it for the older programs.

If you don't mind my asking what does WOW cost? My heating bill doubled and if I don't cut costs we will be living in a tent. I pay $59.95 per month for Basic, Digital Cable on one TV, and no movie channels with Comcast. The service is atrocious and the quality average. Any input appreciated, thanks.

A question about WOW HD (like Tivo).

Can you program to record a programme, event, anything and then whatever happens to scheduling etc. the target gets recorded (whenever it is aired) ?

The answer to the above question in the UK is a definite yes, scheduling changes are handled in real-time. Can that be said here (USA) ?

Oh, I maybe read Hard Disk for HD instead of High Definition, however my question still stands.

BTW, the USA is ahead of the game with high-definition as compared UK.

We have WOW digital cable (not HD) on one TV, basic cable on another (no movie channels) and their internet service and our monthly bill is $92/month. I am also thinking about adding the phone service as well.

I have not checked this in a while, but here is what I have.

Before I had HD, I pretty much had the same setup as Herms, but it has recently changed.

I have:
-1 HD/DVR (with HD programs of course) in the family room.
-1 DVR in the bedroom.
-HBO. And since is was cheaper to go to digital, rather than analog, it also included Starz and Encore.
-Their highest speed internet

I pay $115 per month. Expensive yeah, but worth it.

And to Consider, yes, it is a lot like Tivo, but with a few modifications. I like Tivo a lot better, but since I went to Vonage, my 1st generation Tivo player used the phone line to recieve program info. But since I was not using the land line anymore, it could not dial into my box. Another good thing about Tivo is you can record things by keyword or actor or event or whatever. One thing I do like about the DVR though is I can record one program while watching another one (or record 2 programs at once).

Has anyone tried the WOW phone service? The pricing looks interesting but I've heard horror stories from people about their Vonage experiences.

I use Vonage and have never had an issue. I am on the 500 minute a month plan and it is only $14.99 per month.
