Pretty painless for me. And only $249.00.

Clam, was it really smart to let your 77 y/o mother drive in that worst parking lot in Dupage county? You should know better.....

Would one of you who are experienced at Wii please help us novices out? When the tykes open the gift on Christmas morn, they will probably want to start playing immediately, thus setting the stage for a less-than-Rockwell celebration. That said, is the console hard to hook up? Do all controllers need to be charged and ready and games loaded? How long does all of that take? We don't want to ruin the moment, no matter how materialistic.

Thank you for your help!

As far as I can remember, it's about as hard to hook up as hooking up a DVD player to your TV - all cords are included, and the controllers require AA batteries, so there's no charging necessary. You can then decided whether or not to connect it to the Internet via wireless, or wires - but you can play the games without the Internet connection.

My parents bought one for themselves (67 and 63) to take my dad's mind of his pending operation. So they were having trouble getting the console to recognize the controllers, so they had to call the 8 year old across the street to come and take care of it for them. They said it took her 10 minutes and it was all set up, wireless internet connection and everything. 4MP, let's hope our kindergartners won't need to help us set it up. IMJ JR is getting his Saturday as Elwood the Elf is dropping off stuff at my parents house for IMJ's family celebration. If you hear someone yelling on Sunday morning, that is me, trying to hook it up....

Thanks 4MP, Dad made it through the surgery.....He has fully recovered and is doing great. They thought he had a 60% blockage of his carotid artery, but when they got in there, it was 90% blocked.

We were very "thankful" around Thanksgiving. That holiday never meant as much as it did this year.....

I am glad someone else noticed this. I already have someone looking into the accepted practices for parking lot striping and space usage. If they simply angled the two parking rows, closest to the stores, away from each other they could help solve the problem. I will keep you posted.

I think what they really need to do is to remove the spaces against the storefronts, then turn the rest of the parking lot spaces so that they are parallel to the store fronts, not perpendicular. Similar to Baker Hill, Trader Joes, Home Depot, Menards, Best Buy, Kohl's, Danada Dominicks, Danada Jewel, Target on Roosevelt, The Supermercado on Geneva, Health Track, and just about every other decent sized parking lot on the face of the earth.

That way you have a "main drag" that everyone, pedestrians and motorists, KNOW is a main drag, and you don't have people backing out into the main drag.

Man, I should be a Civil Engineer.

The cheaper band-aid would be to remove those two first rows (east/west) of parking and put in an island along the whole stretch to demarcate the main drag.

Interesting, but what would happen is what always happens in parking lots like this (jewel/dominicks/etc). Lazy a$$ people that feel because they are only going in the store for '5 minutes' they don't have to park in a normal spot, but can park in the fire zone outside the entrance...
