I can turn on the radio at my desk here and find competitors across the dial... all for a MUCH lower price (free) than what I currently pay for Sirius. Yet I pay for Sirius not because they provide a different product... but because they provide a SUPERIOR product. To me that is the line between competition and no competition. There really is nothing on satellite radio that I listen to that I can not readily get in some other form... "regular radio", mp3, cd, whatever. I just get it packaged and distributed to me in a nice form via satellite.

I've never jumped on the satellite radio bandwagon, I never even listen to the channels that are given to me on DirecTV. I'm sure it's wonderful, but I'd rather not pick up another expense right now.
Just like McDonald's Cinnamelts - they look so delicious that I refuse to try them. I don't need anything else to crave. |
