Last Fall, most of us were barraged with automated political phone calls - Tammy and Peter and their robotic armies deluged our phone lines. OK, the election came and went. I breathed a sigh of relief knowing that these calls would be ending.

But now they're back. And back with a twist: The calls aren't political, they're marketing solicitations.

Hi, this is Marie with The Satellite Network...."

Or,

Hello, my name is Boof Bonser and I'm calling you with an important message...

I'm sure we all signed up for the "Do Not Call" list. I did and it has worked quite well I must say. A few local violators [realtors and chiropractors] but all in all, I'm satisfied with the way it has shut down so many nuisance calls.

Are these ever-increasing automated calls some kind of loophole in the law? Is the "Do Not Call" thing even a law?

Did the telemarketers pick up this trick from the likes of Tammy and Pete? Anyone else notice a steady increase in this new automated call nonsense?

Or has my phone number been sold more times than a two-bit Cicero hooker?

I thought you were coming to Firkin's tonight?

Explain your abscence.

Good God....this is such a gender bender. No offense, Ms. Loretta...but you sound sooooo much like little Michael from the cosmetic shop. Everything about your writing style...and your wardrobe description come to think of it...reminds me so very much of our long lost recalcitrant friend.

Perhaps it is not her fault. Perhaps Michael has a multiple personality disorder and native heat is simply one of those personalities. Just like others here on the board turn into PM of Tysonia and Swampdog.

BINGO! We have a winner! I'm guessing NATIVEHEAT65 will choose to drag this charade out for a while. It may be that Michael took my advice and set-up an alias, albeit a bizzare one.

BTW-I'm a happily married, with three fetching dogs and quite honestly too lazy to have an affair.

It's great that Michael took your advice about the alias. The point should have been to develop a new personality. Like CLam said somewhere before his style and content is a giveaway.

Totally speechless. Making assumptions about people, but whatever works for you and others on your board. I am not Michael, but you are allowed to think what you want. I just feel bad for the guy as people talk so much **** about him. Peace,Loretta

If I don't recognize the number, I don't pick-up.
