I use the GoldenEye Program referred to in an earlier post. Any good computer store can hook you up with a program. I am sure that after all this publicity sales will skyrocket.
Taxpayer, I agree that kids need to make some mistakes. I do not run their lunch to them if it is forgotten, I do not call them in when they oversleep, if they ditch school they are suspended, if they get a speeding ticket they pay the ticket and the extra insurance cost etc.. however, some mistakes will cost you your life. My dd is a fairly attractive 16 year old. Her picture is on her myspace account as is most other kids. In my "spying" I found IM's from a 22 year old Wisconsin man who was addressing her as "sexy" etc.. I do not think my daughter is dumb enough to meet up with someone like this but one never knows. There have been 3 men arrested in the last 3 months as sexual predators, all found their victims on myspace. That is one mistake I am not willing to let my daughter make.

Perhaps mistake was the wrong word to use. I think though there should be a degree of trust. Also kids want and probably need a certain level of privacy. I think kids need to know whats smart to do on the web and whats not. Giving out personal information, photos etc is stupid. If someone is trying to contact you're daughter then take that to the cops. Hopefully she will be smart enough to tell you. One thing I think we lose sight of is that your kid is much more likely to be hurt by someone close to her. A relative, teacher, someone who has been give a certain level of trust.
We may not always like what kids do on the web but some things are not going to change. Teenage boys looking at pictures of naked women is one of them.

My daughter does tell me most things, however, meeting an older guy is both exciting and flattering. I do not know that she would tell me unless she had reason to be scared and by then it may be too late. I think most girls would hide something like that from their parents, I know I did. It's not worth the risk. I do not search her room, her car, her backpack etc, but I will continue to monitor her online activities.

"Elegantly" Funny! My wife is surely laughing her *** off. Clam is like a fine wine, better and better with age. And M2C - You are right, I too am neither flattering nor exciting. There IS a reason why Clam and I have in excess of 2000 posts between the two of us. Excitement is not the first word anyone should think of. By the way, IMJ, my law clerk, who did not get into law school, is now looking for a job. You guys hiring? He is bright but obviously sucked on the LSAT. Let me know. THANKS.

While your statement is factually accurate, there is also a reason that you are not a math teacher.

Some things I just leave alone. That was one of them.
He's a good kid, Fish. He really is. In some neighborhoods he's old enough to be our son.

Do you guys have to hijack every thread?
I went onto MySpace today to look around...hoping not to find any of my children there. Fortunately, I didn't (although they might have some kind of pseudonym), but I did see posts from a lot of other kids I know. Most of the Junior boys' posts were pretty innocuous, but I was horrified by a few of the Freshman girls'...addresses, cell phone numbers, actual photo albums of party pictures, open admissions that they get drunk regularly, sexually suggestive photos, profanity every other word, etc. Lovely.
Tell every high school and middle school age parent to check it out themselves.

Yes. BTW I hate the name agnes. Were you teased relentlessly as a child?

Pictures of teenage girls in suggestive pictures will get a lot of people to login though not for the reasons you may hope.
