In an effort to motivate their customers to buy U-Verse, AT&T has discontinued its VIOP. I am forced to find a new provider because I will NOT use U-Verse. We have WOW for cable so that’s an option, but I try to keep business and personal separate. Anyone have any thoughts on services they like and don’t like?

I make a lot of international calling so international rates are important, but still second to service. I use skype, but I wouldn’t want to make it my primary phone.

Righ now I'm leaning towards Vonage.

We have WOW TV, internet and phone.

The phone service offers unlimited local and long distance calling for a single flat fee. Not sure how cheap international is — we don't use it — but as I recall it's very low.

Incredibly detailed info about each call is available every month online (far more than what is included in the billing statement.)

The only problem is that the battery backup in the modem only lasts for about eight hours.

Have you investigated the new (and almost out of beta) Google Voice? Mostly free. —Ted E.
