COD offers classes in french, german and spanish for kids. They even have a summer immersion camp for those langauges. Japanese is geared towards adults.

I wonder if it's possible to find high schools that offer Japanese and see if their teacher is willing to give private lessons.

I would recommend COD. Students I have worked with took Japanese there and learned a lot!

Hindi and Chinese would be good if not better that way your kid could actually get a good education. Though that may mean immigrating to India,China or Japan.

Chinese immersion class at COD was cancelled due to lack of interest. Only two kids signed up.
