I know there is a very, very off chance that I will have any luck with this but does anyone have a boys, size 10 tuxedo lying around collecting dust that we could borrow or rent for a few weeks? Going on a cruise - need a tux for the formal dinners - they don't have our son's size at our port location.

The suit wasn't good enough?
You need a tux? What kind of cruise is this?

Amy,

This could be your lucky day, we have a Nicole Miller tuxedo size ten that my son wore once for the same purpose, we have the shirt, and all of the trimmings. The pants had to be shortened, but with any luck it will fit. You are welcome to borrow it. We have the patent shoes as well. I will give you a call.

lad, you are amazing! Thanks so much!

And Buggy, yes. My husband thought it would be very cute if he and our son wore matching tuxedos for the formal dinners and submitted the request but then we got the call that they didn't have boy's sizes in our port so no dice....it would make the whole thing a lot more special for our son if he could dress like Dad. But, if we weren't able to locate one, he'd bring the suit. Which, by the way, he did wear to his teacher's wedding. It fits great so he will definitely use it again!

I am in awe of this BB - the tux is a perfect fit! So, if any of you have hesitated to ask about borrowing or buying something from someone on the BB, have faith; you can find a boy's size 10 tuxedo with all the trimmings! Thanks again lad!

I knew something like that would happen as soon as I hit "post". I figured someone would ask for a large sum of money though.

And BTW, I did offer to let people test drive my mini (with me in the passenger seat, of course) if they are curious about how it drives....but a whole, week, I don't think so. Big Grin

Fine be that way. Don't you think your car deserves some love and attention while you are on vacation?

I hear a lot of cruises have formal dinners offered. Ours has THREE! Of course, they are optional but since we've never cruised before, we're going for it!

And DTM, I will not be seeking any press/media but it would not be unusual for us to end up bumping into someone I know because we have a long history of that happening no matter where we go. (London and Isle Royale, to name the most unexpected places.) Occasionally it doesn't happen but more often it does. My husband and kids always give me a hard time because of it. So, I'll let you know if it happens this vacation too.

Amy - That's funny about running into people you know on trips. The same things happens to us. My husband will actually try to get me to bet that he will/will not see someone he knows on vacation or when we are out of state.

Over Christmas vacation, he was walking on the beach, overheard someone talking and recognized the voice. It was a co-worker of his. Smile

What fun would it be without you in the passenger seat while I blow the carbon out of your MINI? Wink

And speaking of running into people...we have the same thing happen to us while traveling. When we were in Italy, we ran into a couple that we know from Boulder Junction, Wisconsin, right outside St. Mark's Cathedral in Venice! My partner also ran into old neighbors of his while he was in Japan for work, standing in line for some tour. Glad to hear someone else has the same thing happen.

Congratulations Perplexed on your 400th post! You are walking on sacred and hallowed ground now. I bow to you <I am not worthy, I am not worthy>.
