I found the Pepsi commercial with Justin Timberlake pretty funny, I also liked the Bud Light fire breath commercial.
The SalesGenie one was a stupid waste of money. "Any man who is under 30, and is not a liberal, has not heart; and any man who is over 30, and is not a conservative, has no brains." (Winston Churchill) |

commericals were totally lame this year.
I LOLed at the Justin Timberlake ad but then find it was on the list of worst commericals. Loved the baby comment on underestimating the clown creepiness factor. other than that they were re-treads of past ideas. |

I liked that Charlie Brown got the bottle of Coke.
I always love to see Alice Cooper, but I had to see Richard Simmons, too, so that was a wash. I was disappointed in the Derek Jeter commercial. Cool effect with the field appearing, but it didn't knock me out and did he really say, "Whatever kind of 'mo?" Did I hear that right? |

Is anyone else tired of the singers Apple continues to catupult to the top of the best sellers list? Seriously - I don't think these people would make it past the American Idol judges. They are just not that good . . . .
There were a lot of ads that left you thinking - That's the best you could do? The kids liked the Bud ad with the dog training the horse - they had seen those gigantic horses at the Taste last year. I liked the Frist/Carvelle ad - we can live in perfect harmony! |

Charlie Brown and Bitterboy commercials were the only decent ones as far as I'm concerned. I was all ready to post a thread entitled Super Bore until all hell broke loose in the 4th Quarter.
My rating - First three quarters of the Super Bowl and the Commercials = Crap Last Quarter = Great. But that being said, during my drive in today, everyone was heaping praise onto Eli Manning. Am I the only one that thought he was INCREDIBLY lucky? He was just chucking the ball downfield on the game winning drive a la Grossman. Four of his passes should have been picked off. It was hardly an efficient and impressive performance in my opinion. "Often Wrong, Never in Doubt" |

Without David Tyree's one-in-a-million catch they likely would have lost. I was shouting "Play of the game!" and the children/Pat's fans were very irritated with their mom. I do give the Giants credit for winning what would be their last 11 "away" games, I believe.

I've noticed in other Giants games that Eli has a great two minute offense. The toss to Tyree was more than lucky, since he got out of that unbelievable jam behind the line of scrimmage before he threw it.
Actually, I've noticed more and more in the NFL that passes aren't caught when they look like they should be. There was one in particular that was right in the old breadbasket (can't remember whose breadbasket, at the moment) and it was dropped. Does anybody else remember more passed being caught? Are there just more passes now, since Bill Walsh (God, rest his soul) so there are more drops? Or is it like pitching in the majors, it's just not as good as it used to be? Is this considered a hijacking? |

I didn't remember a single commercial this year, so I'm assuming that's a commentary about the quality, right there.
The game more than made up for it, though. I don't think I can ever see enough slow motion of Tom Brady eating turf. |

Loved the screaming animals (and wife) when the car was going to hit the squirrel.
I thought the Cyldsdale/dog one. It wasn't the typical over-the-top sentimental one but still good. Loved the Coca-cola ones - both (the Macy's parade and Carville/Frist) We liked the baby e-trade ones too. The best part of the two were the spit-up and the creepy clown comment. We laughed pretty hard at the ugly woman who rubbed Planter's cashews where one would normally put perfume and had men falling over her. That was FUNNY! Liked the guys smuggling beer into their "wine and cheese party". I was out of the room for the Fed Ex one with the giant pigeons. Heard it was good. There were definitely some mundane ads too but I thought there were enough good ones....but I'm easy to please when it comes to that stuff. The really important things are not houses and lands, stocks and bonds, automobiles and real state, but friendships, trust, confidence, empathy, mercy, love and faith. " -Bertrand Russell V. Delong |

I know it's probably gross, but the 'follow your heart' one from ...
great now I forgot. It was for getting a new job. Not Monster.com but ... what was it? Career Builder? Damn, I bet most of these commercials the product escapes the audience after it's over. This is a guilty pleasure, but I still chuckle at the GEICO Caveman ones. Anyone ever check out their webpage. Very complex. |
