I'm looking to buy a new grill and wanted to know if you folks think the Weber gas grills are worth the premium? I'm contemplating this model-

Weber S320 SS, Natural gas

I'm also curious if other have found grills that are similiar in performance, but without the premium price?

Mrs. Yoss and I BBQ at least three times a week, even in the winter.

Somewhere, Pig Daddy is spinning in his sauce slathered grave. If he were here, he'd correct you - Grilling isn't BBQ! Mad Mad Mad

I went the Weber route . . . twice (one of Dad's bigger customers so there was a discount involved), and was disappointed each time. Just doesn't generate enough heat to sear. Tends to steam things rather than sear. I finally bit the bullet and got a grill from Thermal Engineering Corp. "TEC"). Would buy another tomorrow if needed. The price you are looking at, I suppose I'd stay with the Weber. Avoid Ducane.

Contemplating going to a second grill for weekends fueled by charcoal/wood for when I have a lot of time and want to go the authentic route . . . looking at a Hasty Bake.

I think I'm going with the Weber S-310 in stainless steel. It got the GEMOM2 seal of approval. Big Grin

Well, I have basically the same grill; it's the Genesis model, but mine is black with stainless doors on the cart and propane, not natural gas.

Unfortunately, it's the first gas grill I've ever owned, so I don't have anything to compare it to. I can say that I've been happy with it for the 4-5 years we've had it and haven't had any trouble with it (and that's actually saying something because we're not the best caretakers). It's out in the rain, sleet and snow because we grill year round and it cleans up like new.

We got a "friends and family" discount on ours because a relative is an accountant for Weber, so we didn't pay full price either.
