If you were found no longer living and clutching your iPod (Zune for the one guy in Glen Ellyn that admits to owning one Big Grin ), what groups/music on your iPod would be the shame of your family and lead people to wonder just who you were?

Please...no youtube links.

I'll fill you in after I get back from dinner.

While I'm a heavy metal nut/fanatic, my IPOD, gulp, is filled, brimming over with classical music. Mostly CSO recordings. I've been exposed and educated with it since I was a baby. Much experience with concerts too. While my friends and family were attending pop concerts and Metal concerts, I was attending the symphony. Mostly downtown. Hence my pickiness and appreciation for certain recordings, which were the first things to be transferred to my IPOD and take up a lot of room. Most people do not know that of me, even my family. I do not admit my knowledge to them. It may be ‘shame’ to my family and friends. Hence I have not posted to the 'Bands you use follow' thread. NERD.

My guilty IPod shame..

I hope your dinner at Capitol Grill was horrible. How dare you take Ruydah and MR and not the Fans....I would have hammered in a nail or something.

I hate you.

"Naked Man" by Randy Newman
Got it after hearing it on a Monk episode.

Not totally shameful, but my kids think it's weird of me.

My most puplic humiliation yet (and iPod shame) is that I own no iPod. Nor Zune. Nor any player whatsoever.

I do have many gigs of MP3's on my computer though, so I hold some techno pride at the very least. Some Madonna tunes would make this list.

I'm guessing you have a video Ipod and were "painting the ceiling" to that song, so to speak....

My family reads this so I have to plead the 5th on the music (my kids already think I’m weird). Also, I don’t own an IPOD, I have an MP3 player that cost less and has more features.

Problem is my new car has an IPOD adaptor, now I feel pressure to buy one

Cool, wonder how that happened, thanks Fish

The fact that you posted this twice leads me to believe that your kids are right.

Clamato,

A little to much to drink last night at dinner? You never filled us in!

I agree with Perplexed, I have an MP3 that, for the price, blows the IPod away. I think with the IPod you are paying for the name.

Songs on my MP3:

John Denver-Annies Song, Rocky Mountain High

Scorpions-No One Like You, Still Loving You

Kenny Chesney-When The Sun Goes Down, I go back

Santana-Smooth

Rupert Holmes-The Pina Colada Song

A little of everything I guess.

I used to like you HalfinGlenEllyn, but all morning I've had "Ariel" playing in my head and I can't get it out!!!!!!!

I can't believe my brain is storing these lyrics: "She wore a peasant blouse with nothing underneath. I said, "Hi." She said, "Yeah, I guess I am." ARRRRRGH! Stop the madness!!

Maybe if I put on some pre-Sammy Van Halen it will get out - Wink

I have managed to get my kids to listen to songs I like by having them listen to the cover version first by a band called Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. Then I make them listen to the original version and they don't seem quite as disgusted.

Here's an example:

Annie's Song

John's original version

Sorry for the youtube links, Clam.

Never heard the song in my life.

This song came from an era of story-telling songs such as: Billy Don't be a Hero, Wildfire, Brandy, and Last Game of the Season. I don't believe any others had such an mind-sticking chorus as Ariel. Now, where are my Van Halen "Diver Down" tracks?? Smile As for i-Pod shame - how about Loverboy's "Working for the Weekend?"
