Anybody try it yet?

I think were going to stop by on Friday.

We stuck our heads in last Friday -- preopening. It looked pretty nice. It will be nice to have outdoor seating with alcohol -- albiet with train noise. We are looking forward to giving it a try.

Wait. This is not a bank? It's a restaurant called "The Bank?" Yes???? Where is it?

On Front street in Wheaton, where the Blockbuster used to be.

Last night we had dinner and overall it was pretty good. The interior is very nice and somewhat upscale.

From the beginning-The greeter could use a little more charisma/charm. Not that he was unpleasant, it's just that he was all business. I was told he was one of the owners, which only reinforces my opinion that he should have been more upbeat and welcoming to his guests. We had to wait about 15-20 minutes for a table, which was no big deal. The whole place felt very spacious and the bar was nice-two 58" plasmas with easy sight lines. The dining rooms also had tv's which in some ways seemed odd. Don't get me wrong, I love watching tv, but it seemed to take something away from the atmosphere.

We were seated downstairs, but it took a while for our server to get to us. He was pretty pleasant and patient. No server gets away easy with Mrs. Yoss, there is a minimum of 4 questions about the menu. It's a little cute-except when Yoss is really hungry. Thankfully the server brought us some delicious french bread.

I went conservative and just got a cheeseburger, Mrs. Yoss got the chicken breast on pretzel bread. We both agreed the food was very good and I look forward to going back and trying some other items. Service was a little eratic, but it is their first week, so I can make allowances. I will say our server was always pleasant and accomodating.

Of course I had to have a Cosmo for desert and the one I had there was excellent. BTW-They had a nice selection of premium beers, Fat Tire among them.

On a scale of 1-10, ten being the best, I would give The Bank, a seven. While they do have a childrens menu, the place is more upscale than Firkins was and I don't think little children running about would be a good thing. There is a fairly large staircase which I could see a youngster easily taking a tumble down.

I went to this place last night. Overall I was pretty disappointed. We got there at about 5:30 and requested a booth. The hostess said "those are reserved for our larger parties" and put as at a 2 person table, and then proceeded to seat 2 person parties at all the booths around us. Pretty annoying.

The waiter was visibly either bored or tired (continually yawning) but otherwise the service was good. I had the chicken sandwich on pretzel bread and my companion had some kind of wrap thing. The sandwiches were fine, but I was very surprised to see that the fries that came with were the frozen, in a big bag at Jewel 3/$1 variety. Pretty disappointing.

For my money, Muldoon's is a much better deal, as long as you can make it before the live "entertainment" starts.

I would have left right when they told me they couldn't accomodate my seating request. I hate 2 person tables.

That's true. Then maybe we'll "cross" paths.
