I'm so excited! If you're still listening and deciding, check out his website: Obama 08.

Amy, I never thought we would agree on anything!
I'm going to order some "Mama for Obama" pins - I'll be sure to get you one. I also like the "Barack and Roll" shirts. I can't wait until November! |

I thought his speech was very presidential...I liked Edwards' speech, too. Hilary's not so much. Mostly, though, I'm very impressed with the Democratic turn out - it bodes well for the future, I think!

It's kind of funny that Obama's last name is actually Hussaine not to mention his millde name rhymes with Osama lol.
West side is the best side. |

hysterical. . . btw, what's a "millde" name? oh, and it's hussein, not hussaine. and btw2, hussein is his millde [sic] name, obama is his last name. where do you get your data? |

TA is right but no matter what order you put his name, what makes it funny? I think it's part of what makes him the ideal candidate: He's actually lived in other places and seen a lot more of the world. He lived in a Muslim country but he is not muslim - nor was his African father.
Sherry, I don't know if I know you but if you get me a button, I will wear it proudly! Thanks! The one I kept on my purse kept falling off...and I can't find it now. Vote Obama 08! That's Derrick....from Glen Ellyn cable's smash hit THE Rob and Derrick Experience. He is semi-harmless. He means well. He has a heart of gold. |

You left out he has a heart of gold. "Any man who is under 30, and is not a liberal, has not heart; and any man who is over 30, and is not a conservative, has no brains." (Winston Churchill) |

No. It is there. Look closely. I am a big fan of BO...wait, that doesn't sound right....of Obama. I am hit or miss about electing a president with two years of senate experience (some would so zero senate experience as he has been running for president since he was elected to the senate). That being said, experience hasn't done this country a lot of good. Perhaps it is time to elect somebody with limited time behind the wheel of anything. Hillary has to be scratching her head this morning. |

My bad, I am getting new reading glasses this weekend. I'm still undecided, but if I had to vote today, I'd go with Obama. He seesm to be very intelligent, is a consensus builder and has a personal background that I think would make him a good international leader. It's still early in the game, so I may waffle in the coming months. One thing I do know, I will not vote for Hillary. There's just something about her I don't trust. I agree. I am a Ron Paul political supporter and a Barack Obama personal supporter. However, Paul is going to get bounced....that leaves Romney (what are his REAL positions?), Guiliani (no chance), Huckabee (Bush on steroids) and McCain (no chance). For the Dems, Edwards (meh), Clinton (NO WAY) and Barack. As far as I'm concerned, when your political ideologies are not represented, you vote for the best person (not the party)...and there is no better PERSON in this race than Obama. Middlein - did you check out the website? Click on "issues". It gives a good overview of his positions. I think we all know that any candidate can't accomplish EVERYTHING they say they will do but I think his ability to work with people from all political backgrounds is why he will be an excellent president! This is why Bill Clinton was a good president. The country moved forward and we need that again. By the way, I sort of like Ron Paul except that his ideals go a little too far toward the libertarian end of things. "The most valuable things in life are not measured in monetary terms. The really important things are not houses and lands, stocks and bonds, automobiles and real state, but friendships, trust, confidence, empathy, mercy, love and faith. " -Bertrand Russell V. Delong |

I am not sure I want someone 4 years removed from being in Springfield making world policy decisions. Besides, he says he makes the hard choices, but his voting record (or lack thereof) says differently.
excerpts from above link: --------------- In the end, Mr. Obama chose neither to vote for nor against the bill. He voted “present,” effectively sidestepping the issue, an option he invoked nearly 130 times as a state senator. “If you are worried about your next election, the present vote gives you political cover,” said Kent D. Redfield, a professor of political studies at the University of Illinois at Springfield. “This is an option that does not exist in every state and reflects Illinois political culture.” ----------------- I'm wondering if he just stuck a paperclip on his voting desk to vote present... |

We really are a nation that doesn't care about one's qualifications, experience, etc. We are a nation that cares about one's looks and speaking ability. With the possible exception of our current president.
