I keep hearing about the incident, but I have missed all coverage of it. Someone on the TV suggested it was staged. I haven't seen it but I seriously doubt it. She isn't that good. She's never used such a technique before. If Bill Clinton had choked up, I would have bet money it was fake. But not Hillary. And, as someone else on the TV pointed out, no one had no idea what the effect of a staged tear would be. It could have went the other way.

But at this point, if it happens again, folks will definitely pounce on it as a fake.

I agree with you on this Middlein.

The tears weren't fake - they were sincere. I've seen it numerous times (on the news) and it was truly an honest response that got her a little choked up. She didn't blubber or anything and did show excellent restraint.

As for the abortion issue, I won't get into the pro-life/pro-choice/morality thing but what does kill me - every time - is that Republicans claim to want less government but want to make abortion illegal. Shouldn't this be a personal, moral and medical decision for a woman - and perhaps her partner?

No one has to answer that if we want to avoid that slippery slope.

Back to the political pundits.

In the instance of this issue, silence (on this BB) is golden. This topic dominated this BB a number of years ago and it got very ugly at times. Probably aged Ted five years just staying on top of it. Wink

Interesting to note how stubbornly you stick with an incorrect position.

If you start with the supposition that the fetus is not a human life, or that a Mother's rights trump those of the fetus, then all bets are off, I suppose.

To add more confusion, when a pregnant woman is killed, they sometimes charge the offender with murder of the unborn child. How many months pregnant does she have to be before they will do this?
