You, yes you Glen Ellyn. Your income taxes aren't high enough and you need to sacrifice.

Quinn: Illinois faces greatest crisis of modern times

"Quinn's budget calls for increasing education funding by more than $100 million and hiking higher education funding by $40 million.

On Tuesday, before his speech, Quinn offered no apologies to the suburban families who'd be hit by his proposed income tax increase, saying someone's got to sacrifice in these times of economic turmoil."

We already pay exorbitant property taxes that primarily fund the local schools.

Perhaps Steve Jones is right. Who the **** is going to notice an extra one percent sales tax in Glen Ellyn when no one will be shopping thanks to Governor Quinn?

This perpetually growing list of new and higher taxes that will be assessed on our household is causing me to feel "mean spirited." Frown

I've noticed a significant increase in mean spirited people... me included. I just can't shake it.

I don't have a problem with some graduation in the state income tax. And maybe a small raise I could live with. But fifty percent is out of line.

Especially when you have Quinn telling his Teacher union supporters that he is going to take care of them. Oh yeah and his buddies in the other unions will also be taken care of as well.

I don't deserve it - I didn't vote for any of those people!! Razz

My plumber quipped today that the raise he just received would be negated by the state income tax increase.

GeFan...sorry, Herbert Hoover was an engineer in private industry before the presidency. GWBush...many non political jobs, including owner of a baseball team. Jimmy carter: naval engineer. eisenhower: career military. blago: just plain greedy/stupid/evil. my theory: it's a crapshoot as to who you get and how they do.
