Hoffman Estates OKs outdoor concert venue near Sears Centre

This is great, I used to love going to Poplar Creek to see a concert in my younger days.

Me too.

I remember the last concert I saw there - Lynard Skynard....1994. Yep, it really sucked.

I sure hope they remedy that parking lot nightmare.

Totally different area. The old Popular Creek is now a Cabellas, hotel and mall if I'm not mistaken.

You are correct.

Last concert I saw there was Steely Dan, looks like their angling for that type of low key performers. This will be a great for the Penny Road Pub.

I think I was at every Buffett show that took place there. Last show I was at was Judas Priest, the show where the Creek security gave the keys back to a drunk and he got in his car and ran someone over killing him. We were one of the companies that demo'd the place. We had an employee here that took a crapload of stuff out of there. He sent in a final plat of survey on it and on the outside ring of the plat, he put all his ticket stubs on it. Plat looked pretty cool, the village didn't appreciate it too much though.

My favorite at that place were the signs that said "no freebird" on it. I think we may have one or two of them laying around in the office somewhere.

The Sanfilippos sold the Penny Road Pub. I think it may be coming down.

AAAwww nuts.

Always like the diversity of the place. It wasn't the same though after they remodeled it over 10 years ago, just lost some of it's charm.

You are too funny - We lived in the same building as the Sanfilippos in Chicago. They never picked up after their dog - but the girlfriend of one of the sons would actually do a fake "swoop" with the bag. Life in the big city. Roll Eyes

The last concert I saw there was Yes. I was about 3 weeks from going into the Air Force so I think I held my breath the whole time.
