So GEM, when did you get the 7D? Is that a 70-200 you are using? How dark was it that you were shooting ISO1600? I am a 7D owner as well. Digging it so far.

I borrowed it from a friend of mine last week. He doesn't like it, so I'm testing it out to see if I want to buy it. I have a 5D but it's heavy.

So far I like the 7D. It's really fast.

It wasn't too dark, but I needed some shutter speed and depth of field. Hand held 70-200 with a 1.6 conversion factor (320mm equiv.) Thus the higher iso.

Had to return my iphone beta when that idiot left his in the bar.

The gripe about the 7D is all the changes. If you read the manual, it helps. I think it is a great camera.

They are selling for $1200 used at Fred Miranda, that is a REALLY good price.

The focusing on the 7D is much different than the 5D. 5D is such an amazing camera, I would just stick with that. Get the grip and you are good to go.

I don't want to pay for their bridge or go to their festivals, but this is a nice story.

"L" lenses are the high end pro quality lenses. The new 70-200 L IS II, for example, is about $2,499 alone. The 7D body without a lens of any kind is $1,699.

7D and L lens for <$600. Is that for real? If it is, I hate you.
