Fark.com has a link to an editorial by syndicated columnist Leonard Pitts Jr. that reminds me of the way most “facts” are argued in the political threads here on the GEBB.
I thinks it’s reasonably non-partisan in the sense that lefties will say, “Yeah, that’s the right wing thinks” and righties will say, “Yeah, that’s the way left thinks.”
It reminds me of “All in the Family” back in the day whenever Meathead and Archie got into a fight. Us young’uns would listen to Meathead and say, “You tell ”em, Meathead!” and our old fogie elders would listen to Archie’s responses and say, “You tell ‘em Archie! He needs to hear that!”
So in that something-for-everybody spirit, I give you Fark’s introduction...
“Remember a time when facts settled arguments? Those were the good old days, before the dark times ... before people became estranged from critical thinking, divorced from logic, alienated from even objective truth.”
But I think he read Huxley's quote with his "But objective reality does not change because you refuse to accept it. The fact that you refuse to acknowledge a wall does not change the fact that it's a wall." LOL
Fark account number 3311 here. Been farking since 2001. For other farkers with an iPhone, there is a fark app called Not News. It is $2 bucks but worth it.
