To opt out, call 800-333-9956, you enter your phone number, your billing zip code, and the last 4 digits of your SS#, then hit 9 to opt out, quick and painless.

Even if you are not a verizon customer you should call to opt out. Verizon in the past has purchased information like this from other sources (like Ameritech back in the day), so you may be on their list even if you have never done business with them.
