BTW, we were in a restroom at the time. Not in some random location.

GEMom, I know about his "indiscretion" recently in Chicago. I wasn't commenting on his character, just his talent. However, don't think he'd be in the Britney crowd - he's not a rocker/dancer/musician of any kind and I'd suspect he'd feel he's "above" that scence. You know what I mean; it's like the cool kids in high school who had drunken keggers looking down their noses at the pot-smoking "druggies". Roll Eyes

Shia LeBeouf - he's got quite a resume. You've probably seen him in things and not known that's who I'm talking about. The big news is he's Indiana Jones' sidekick (possibly son) in the upcoming installment of the Indiana Jones movies.

Personally, I found his acting in both, "Holes" and "Tru Confessions," (a Disney Channel movie from a few years back when my kids were totally in love with Disney Channel) really amazing.

Perplexed, my daughter "outed" you so I know who you are and if we have another party, you'll definitely be invited! Smile

Thanks for the pre-invite LOL.

Geeze first my Mother figures out who I am in about 4 posts and now you... I will have to talk with my daughter. She told me that your daughter and one of the others in that group mentioned something about a “dog in a sweater”. My daughter said she pretended she knew nothing. I will have to teach that girl how to have a poker face. Funny you mentioned this now; I was just checking her Facebook account and saw a picture of the two of them from last June.

Oh wait... I just figured it out. Stupid Me! Britney's friend texted my kid. I'm sure that both you and Buggy's daughters heard about it. Oh well.

According to IMDB, he was doing voice work two years before he was born. That's talent. This kid is awesome.

Getting worse

Why this nutbag isn't locked is a mystery to me. Seems obvious that the people around her don't give a rats behind about her. Unless there is an intervention, I really think she'll be dead this year, probably by her own hand.

Do you actually think Mental Health care is on the same par with physical health care? This is SO typical! First, for adults in America, counseling is voluntary unless you are a threat to yourself or someone else. Second, even if she were hospitalized, the counseling probably wouldn't be successful. Third, the system is so under-funded, under-appreciated, and misunderstood, that's why you see so many folks with real "issues" on the street. There just isn't a good system and no one can make her get help.

Amy is right. Even when there is money and access to mental health care, a crisis can paralyze the family from acting. It is very difficult to have someone involuntarily committed - and the guilt of having to do it, even when you know it's the right thing - is hard to get past. When there are hangers-on around who likely don't have the best interests of Spears in mind, it can only get worse. Frown

I remember the simpler days of this thread when pictures of Paul Volcker made us smile. I wish we could all go back those days.

Here is a picture of Paul standing on a podium and leaning on a lectern.

Even if Yoss doesn't particularly care what happens with Britney Spears (I honestly don't pay much attention to this stuff - I think all the attention is part of the problem here and from what little I have seen or heard, her Mom seemed to be as invested in keeping attention on her, "Little girl."), I do think this raises the larger issue about Mental Health Care. Right now, there is a Senate Bill which will require insurance companies to cover mental health care at an equal level with physical health care. I encourage you to learn more

Amy-You are 100% correct, what insurance covers for mental health is pitiful. I got out of the field in the 80's because of my frustration with the "30 day wonders". I worked primarily with teenagers and for most their insurance only covered 30 days hospitalization per calender year. Kids would be admitted by their parents, some were justing acting out, others had serious disorders. The first two weeks after admission were a wash because the patients would be testing limits with the staff. Regardless, 30 days would come to pass and out the door they went. Some of these kids would LEAVE crying because the hospital was first enviornment where they felt safe.

Bottom line you can't really help somebody in such a short span. Poor life skills are aquired over years in a dysfunctional enviornment. I've always said that therapy is like learning a new skill, it takes time and practice. If you've always been a right hander all you're life and now you're told you need to be a left hander, how long do you think it would take you to be proficient? You couldn't do it in the 30 days, especially if for the first 15 days you resisted change.

Absolutely my experience too, Yoss. And if we can get kids the comprehensive help they need when they are younger (before adulthood), then maybe we can stave off the more significant problems that come up due to lack of treatment.

I should have stated in my post that I also encourage everyone to contact their legislators: Durbin, Obama, and probably Roskam for most everyone that posts here. Tell them to support Senate Bill 558.

Why are you all so tough on Brittany? All that stuff going on in her life and she’s still averaging 14.7 points per game and 6.9 rebounds. It’s tough being the number 2 scorer on the team. Just think how Whitney Houston feels averaging only 2.2 ppg with 1 rebound.

Oh so sorry, the wrong Brittany and Whitney. This Brittany & Whitney play b-ball for the University of Colorado Buffaloes. Excuse me for interrupting your thread. U of C Women;s B-ball Roster

Brittany doesn't box out on the boards and she needs to work on her ball handling.
