Does anyone do background checks anymore?????

"A Comcast contractor has been charged in the death of a nurse who was found dead in her bathtub last October, and they suspect him in a similar murder that occurred last Friday.

The body of 39-year-old nurse Janice Ordidge was found in her bathtub in October. An autopsy determined she was strangled and the death was ruled a homicide, according to a report from the medical examiner’s office.

Police say Anthony Triplett, 25, is in custody and charged with first-degree murder, criminal aggravated sexual assault, and residential burglary. More charges might stem from another homicide discovered last Friday.

The body of 23-year-old Urzula Sakowska was found nude in her bathtub in her home on the 6100 block of South McVicker Avenue.

At about 8 p.m. Friday, Sakowska was found in her bathtub in the 6100 block of South McVicker Avenue by either neighbors or friends, according to police news affairs officer Kelly Liakopoulos. Sakowska, who was found with her mouth ducktaped, was pronounced dead at the scene and an autopsy found that she died from suffocation and strangulation, according to a medical examiner's office spokesman.

According to the sergeant, police were clued in to Triplett's alleged involvement because a white cable truck or van was seen at the time of the deaths.

Comcast spokesperson Rich Ruggiero said the man was contracted through a company called Premier, and was suspended on Dec. 10, two days after the slaying."

"We wish to express our sympathy for the family impacted by this tragedy," said Comcast in a statement. "We are cooperating fully with Chicago Police as they conduct their investigation."

My guess would be that Premier would be responsible for the background checks - Comcast should be more careful about who they contract from! I just had 2 Comcast guys in my home over the past 3 weeks!!!

While I was on a west coast trip recently, mi espousa had a Comcast tech come on-site to the manse. She said she could hardly understand him as he had a thick Russian [?] accent.

He fixed the cable problem but for some reason, he turned off the gas to the hot water heater. No idea why he did this. My son figured out what was wrong and got the hot water back on.

Comcast is better than the old "AT&T Broadband" clowns, IMO. Much better.

Has anyone ever had a perfect visit by comcast where they do it on the first try and get it right. I am sure they get paid by the job and flub it up the first time on purpose so they can make a return visit.
