I love the south, I embrace many of the southern gentleman qualities I've learned from my decades living in the south. But this sort of crap just makes my blood boil, and makes me embarrassed of my background.

Don't be embarassed, nc....us Yankees know that not everyone down there is all about the segregation and whatnot.

Southern Hospitality, manners, and such are some of the best things about the south (particularly the Bible belt). We embrace those and try to ignore the negative aspects thereof. We all have things from our histories that we're not proud of, it's just a part of life.
