Hey, that's what the bar is about....drinking and flirting. Anyone who seriously thinks he (or she, for that matter) is going to meet his (or her) "soul mate" in a bar, is completely out of his (or her) mind. Inebriation breeds lust, not love. Sorry, that's just how life works sometimes.

Otherwise, most of the items on that list are pretty dead on for cruel and immature female manipulations.

For the record, it's not like I do or say anything to the drink-buyers to insinuate there's any potential. I simply say thanks, maybe dance a little, and move on. If he's a nice guy (and my friends are ok with it), he may be invited to hang out with us for the remainder of the evening.

No worries about any of this anymore, though....I caved and decided to try this whole relationship thing again Roll Eyes

GEM, that's not the issue....if that works for you, then great. Worked for me, too. My point was that you can't give someone flack for playing the game the way it's supposed to be played....as Yoss did to me above >:P

DTM, that was not taking advantage of him. I told him flat-out up front that the only way I would go was if he had absolutely NO expectations and it was strictly a friends-only evening. At that point, the responsibility was on him for pushing for it....NOT me.

Guys, . . . . This stuff works both ways.

Play the game, There is tons of stuff she will want from and want you to do. It's a game, like Texas Hold Em. (speaking of that what ever happened to the second annual card tourney?)

She wants you to come over when she knows your going to the game? Great! Tell her you don't want company when you know her mother is coming over. Better yet, schedule the guys night out when she has plans with her girlfriends. There's always a work around.

Don't forget to forget to charge your cell phone too!!! Works every time!!!!

Everything GEM said is dead on....except for the cell phone charging part. If you don't want to talk with her, just don't answer. If she keeps calling, pick up the phone and tell her it's over 'cuz you don't need someone stalking you all the time. It's not rocket science here.

This is totally wrong! Keep her hungry. . . . Make her think there is a future (of some sort) Better to have something to fall back on if the bars are a bit slow that night. As my old Pappy use to tell me. "During a really bad storm. . . . . any port will do."

Yeah....not so much.

Ok Shore, you guys have got to be in something like the 2nd percentile on that one....seriously. Not saying it can't happen, but it absolutely won't if you go into the bar expecting it to.

I was bartending. Lucky for me, she forgot her sunglasses.

#3 The time test withholding gig.

Just book a trip to Vegas with your friends. For some reason #3 reverses in the hope that you'll behave while in Sin City.

Brett Favre would like to add "Forwards Sexts and Voicemails to their girlfriends" to that list.
