From today's column
NEIL STEINBERG Sun-Times Columnist You've got shopping bags filled with gifts; your luggage is packed; you've got something to read on the plane. But are you really ready to go home? What else are you carrying with you? If you're like most, you're also dragging along a trunk stuffed with grudges, complaints and legitimate beefs, and you might not even know it until the thing splits open right in the middle of dinner. Leave it at home. Identify what's bothering you about your mother, your father, your son, or whomever. Flip it over and check the expiration date -- if it's more than a year old, let it go. Even if it's something that should be talked about, maybe Christmas isn't the time to do it. Take it from your Uncle Neil. Forgiveness is a wonderful thing. A while back, a colleague wrote a column about me that could be considered unkind, and a number of readers asked why I didn't respond. I wrote them back that I did respond -- I took her out to lunch, that very day, and we had a swell time and lots of laughs. You can't control what other people do and think, you can only control what you do and think. The past was bad enough the first time around; don't let it keep coming back to spoil the present. Let it go, and have a Merry Christmas. ___________________________________ To all: May you and your family have Peace. Ronald M. Kas |

Nice post Ron-Thank you.
Merry Christmas. "Any man who is under 30, and is not a liberal, has not heart; and any man who is over 30, and is not a conservative, has no brains." (Winston Churchill) |
