Not seeing much in the media about Israel moving into Arab East Jerusalem in violation of the UN and U.S. warnings, to build new settlements and further destabilize Arab/Jewish/US relations. Bloodshed soon with the Palestinians undoubtedly taking the brunt as we all stand by.
But at least we have been well informed that Ping Ping the shortest man has died. That's everywhere.
It's mind-blowing what is and is not deemed as news these days. Damned ratings....it's sorta like the past "competitions" for the most posts on here, it's not about the quality just the quantity.
I try to get my news from "underground"-like publications, they usually have the real stories.

Volunteer friend in Haiti tells me tens of thousands of human beings are wandering in panic due to the onset of the rainy season- their tent villages are being destroyed by flooding and the recently constructed pit toilets are over flowing with human waste and they are dying of cholera and other diseases. In the US news?- buried. Don't even get me started on our support of the Baby Doc and Papa Doc which allowed them to rob that nation of the little wealth it once had- heck, only Doonesbury used to write about it as it was happening in his old cartoon strip. All because we were worried that the communists might take over Haiti. We do some really great things as a country in the world but we seem to screw up equally well.
