I' m writing this from a Delta MD90 aircraft on it's way from Atlanta to Orlando. I utilizing Aircell's "Go-Go" Wi-Fi service, which we are currently installing on Delta's domestic fleet. As of this writing, Delta currently has 30 aircraft equipped with the service, only another 307 to go. Starting March 1, we will have three installation lines going in Atlanta, so each day we will be adding three more aircraft with the service. In April we will be adding two more lines,so if all goes well the entire Delta domestic fleet should be done by late 2009. Today's flight is a test flight to ensure that there is no interference with the avionics. This is the culmination of three days of testing and we have passed with flying colors. If you have any questions about the service or it's availability on your favorite airline, send me an e-mail and I'll do my best to answear your questions. "Everyone thinks their opinion matters. I must have hit some turbulence while typing. "Everyone thinks their opinion matters. Don't argue with a nobody. A farmer doesn't bother telling a pig his breath smells like s***."

Does this get the GEBB some sort of place in the Guinness Book of world Records?

IMJ-AA currently has the service on their 767-200 aircraft, operating them between JFK-SFO, JFK-LAX and JFK-MIA. I can say AA has been happy with the service and they are a competitor of Delta's, so stay tuned. UA is going to launch the service on their transcon 757's, operating basically the same routing as AA. There are several other airlines in the prototype stage, but I can't say who they are until the formal press release has been issued. I do feel comfortable saying that this service will be widely available by 2010. Speeds are very similiar to when you use a "sky card" from Verizon or ATT. "Everyone thinks their opinion matters. BTW-For folks with kids, some of the airlines have porn filters to keep the flight PG. Sorry Clam. "Everyone thinks their opinion matters. Don't argue with a nobody. A farmer doesn't bother telling a pig his breath smells like s***."

Only SOME have porn filters? I can't imagine that they all won't except maybe the european carriers. Sounds like a long plane trip will be much easier to take for non sleepers. Very cool.

This issue is a slippery slope, one that each airline is struggling with. For example-Airlines can't prevent someone from bringing a Playboy on board. Or Clam looking at men's underwear. Not to knock Delta, but after a near death experience on one of their satelite operators "Atlantic Southeastern Airways" a few years ago, going from Atlanta back to Wilmington, NC, I dubbed Delta the: Doesn't Ever Leave The Airport airline. But, that was long before the restructuring that has been going on in the airline sector over the past several years. Sometimes, bankruptcy protection is a good thing! Yoss, I bet you know that airline. Let me tell you, I came pretty darn close to a Lynyrd Skynyrd departure from this earth on that flight. Old, beat up twin turbo prop planes. We got about 30 miles outside of Wilmington, only to be told by the pilot that the de-icing equipment had failed, and he could only make the plane go one way, down! So he slowed the plane's speed to drop in altitude to warmer air. Then, and this is what really chapped my tail, the pilot was ordered to return to Atlanta! We were 10 minutes from Wilmington, but they couldn't fix the plane there, only in Atlanta with Delta mechanics. So we basically tree-topped it back in the warmer air. I swear, I heard "Free Bird" playing in those clouds. Eventually, I made it to Myrtle Beach on a different plane, and rented a car for the last 60 miles of the trip. Oddly enough, that plane was broken too, as the toilet was "out of order". It took me 13 hours to complete what should have been a 45 minute flight. To top it off, I had one of the worst hangovers in my entire life that day, thanks to being the best man at my buddy's wedding in Destin, Fl the night before. I sure hope ASA is out of business!
