Any of our attorney friends know this guy? This kid could die in a foreign land and now he has to deal with this s**t! IMO-This man's action is beyond reprehensible and I really hope he gets whats coming to him.

No matter what a person's opinion is of war or even if one is vehemently anti-military, defacing military personnel's property is wrong on every level. What a jerk.

A quick search reveals that Grodner has closed his own web site. No doubt he was getting a lot of negative contact. This story is number 3 on Snopes' top 25 e-mailed stories. Those slots are usually reserved for all of the usual garbage people forward (phony abductions, crime warnings, etc.) to our inboxes.

Sounds like an angry, unpleasant man. What a POS.

I am looking in the law directory and cannot find a Grodner licensed to practice in Illinois.

Used to be a well respected divorce attorney. Has a real problem which makes him more of what he is, if you know what I mean.

He can hurt Grodner more through the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission and a civil suit. Plus he has John Kass (no relation) as his patron saint. He will milk this story like Bob Green milked Baby Richard and Otto Kirschner.

He took his site down. Or it crashed.

Ron Kas I like. Never have been a fan of John Kass. And I know I'm alone in not finding Jack Nicholson particularly clever. Not that that has anything to do with it.

What's the deal with The Ethicist? Is it a website or did you just find this cartoon guy who looks ethical?

Enquiring minds want to know

You mean, you haven't encountered him in School Week and the Glen Ellyn News? Maybe he is in the Daily Herald ...

Got it. Randy Cohen of the NYT.

I like the more evil looking rendering.

Hi,

Good lord, I feel for this guy. Someone sent me a link today which shows a youtube video of him. Since I don't know if what they are saying is legit or not, I will not post it here. But apparently some folks are so upset at this guy that they've created something called "the Grodner Effect" which speaks to attorneys who abuse the legal system.

Nobody likes to be duped, and certainly nobody should get away with a felony just because the victim is away in Iraq. But the level of anger directed at this guy drives home the fact that many people simply do not like lawyers.

Can we say present company excluded? (At least Ron Kas?)

LOL

Oh, no. I have a tiff going now with a client's former husband. He
REALLY doesn't like me. My client likes me though.

What about a hypothetical. Let's say this young man was a consultant with Blackwater and he was going to Iraq. Same driving habits. Same hot car. Still the outrage?

As a lover of nice automobiles, YES, I would still be outraged. You just don't mess with a man's car. Big Grin

I just saw the youtube video as well. Someone is pretty upset with this guy to go through that much trouble. How long do you think it will be before youtube is threatened with legal action and the video is removed? What would the ethicist say? Does the guy deserve it? Public humiliation? Has the internet changed our perspective regarding justice?

Wow, just realized that the "Grodner Effect" actually has its own website. Revenge can be a very nasty thing.

Are you implying that my Mom is right because I’m bad?

No way! This thread is not about you anyway.
