just got back from smoque. absolutely out of this world BBQ. these guys are currently being featured on the food network's "diners, drive-ins and dives." four or five ex-corporate guys who decided to shuck the ties and get down to some serious cookin'. they've done their homework too -- spending months in the carolinas, texas and memphis learning the ways of slow-smoking true BBQ.

perfect brisket, baby back & spare ribs, and pulled pork. i got the st. louis spare ribs. thick, lean and perfectly smoked. and none of that par-boiled to fall off the bone, crap. good slow-smoked BBQ'd ribs need to be chewed off the bone. these deliver.

just as delectable are the baked beans. anyone who loves beans knows that it's tough to find good recipes. i'd go back just for the dang beans.

it's not the easiest place to get to from here (pulaski and irving park rd.), but well worth the trip. one note, if you're going on a saturday, GO EARLY (before 5:00). after that the place is packed with a line stretching well outside. . . tonight dozens of folks were waiting in this cold weather for authentic BBQ.

lastly, the ambiance is really low-key: tight space, low budget with separate parties sharing tables. customers eat then get out to open up space for another hungry group. don't go and expect an "upscale" casual dining experience. this is a true BBQ joint like you'd find down south.

I saw the episode after you endorsed it. Boy did it look good. TA, look up my address and drop off my leftovers.

Thanks.

Note - Please just ring the doorbell. My wife will grab the goods. I may be out with Clamato paying Yossarian's house "a visit."

Note to self-leave dog flap unlocked through January 1, underfeed dogs.

I'll answer for him. Yes. What fun would it be if Charlie disappeared on Day 1. It's the suspense that makes it so great.

Charlie Brown is now secured by my bicycle cable lock to a pine tree.

Potts was that your silver Chevy Malibu out front last night? Two guys ran out with a golden retriever.

I have a Chevy Malibu but it is a '69 and it's red. Plus, it certainly isn't the stealth vehicle that we will need to pull this heist off. Second, I don't have a golden....although, a dog diversion will be used.

As far as the bicycle cable lock goes...I say bring it on.

Yoss,

What neighborhood are you in?

Will there be bleachers for this show? or should I bring my folding chairs?

Prestigious Glenrise Estates.

No curbs, no lights, no hobo blights!
