Took the train downtown yesterday and noticed that when we got to our destination on LaSalle, there was a terrible sewer odor for blocks. Is this normal in that area???? For such a beautiful afternoon, the walk to lunch wasn't too appetizing.

You sure it wasn't the smell coming from Blommer? Can't imagine that could be mistaken for sewer stench...but maybe.

Due to the massive sewer work on Pennsylvania and Forest that Clamato mentioned. Seems to be work being done to support the grocery store going in.

Pennsylvania is completely closed off today between Forest and Main.

Me thinks the bird was referring to downtown Chicago.

I have never heard of the smell wafting from Blommer being described as "sewer"-like. And they usually roast in the AM. Always smell it in the morning, rarely in the afternoon.

You were probably in the vicinity of City Hall while they were discussing the CTA budget.

Yes...very close...

It definately had nothing to do with chocolate.
