I don't believe that government at any level should be giving tax dollars to specific companies unless there is an exchange of services and/or products.


Has anyone seen any proof that 1600 additional jobs are going to be created. Or was this just a number they pulled out of their hat.

Of course because the Governor of the State of Illinois and the CEO of a Fortune 500 company got up and said so . Well it must be true.

For the record I'm not into conspiracy theories.

Quinn aka Governor photo op probably read the Tribune article about how jobs were leaving Illinois and he or one of his flunkies decided to "reach out" to the Navistar people.

The Navistar people probably couldn't believe how lucky they just got. Sixty Five million for something they were willing to do for free.

Can't blame them for taking it. Yeah they have to stand there with Quinn but its a small price to pay.

It's a 1 million square foot office building. I don't think they're going to fill it with packing piffles.
