I am the most un-scout father in town with a son in Troop 45. My idea of roughing it is a hotel without room service. At least this troop uses a french press for their coffee!

In any event, Troop 45 is having their Pancake Breakfast at First United Methodist Church on December 1. You will find scouts selling tickets in front of Busy Bee on Friday, November 23. This is the troop's only fundraiser where they keep all their sales in house. Please buy a ticket, and go eat. Or just buy a ticket.

The BSA is a wonderful organization. I myself was once a scout. Not sure if I'll be near Busy Bee on Friday, but if you send the lil guy over to the house, I'll make certain we have a donation ready.

I'd have to agree! As far as I know, nobody took me up on my offer of free money for the troop with no strings attached. What say you?

It's up to the kid to sell. I refuse to sell for him. However, I matched his sales as an incentive. He probably didn't want to make me pay more than I did, and believe me, I paid through the nose.

If you didn't spend so much time having coffee with the coppers, you would have walked over to have pancakes. All you can eat is a value with the size of your family!

Thanks for the offer BB.

You got it all wrong. When the soon to be Eagle Scout and his troop beautified Spicely Park, I was so elated that I handed them a small donation. My way of saying thank you. My offer of a donation to your troop had nothing to do with the breakfast and/or teaching him the life lesson of selling. It was just a token of appreciation for the BSA's mere existence. No, I am not drunk, yet anyway. The Scout Oath and Scout Law are priceless. The BSA is a wonderful organization, good for today's youth and well worth preserving. That takes $ my friend. Besides it wasn't like I was going to give em a hundo or anything.
