Brakes are pretty easy, Clam. Especially if you're talking 4-wheel disk brakes. If you seriously need help come spring, let me know.

Mr. Clamato, I have a friend with the same exact car. He completely refurbed it himself. Beautiful shape. I can ask him if you'd like.

2 very highly recommended Bimmer mechanics:

Town and Country Import Cars in Oak Park (PH 708.848.0550). Ask for Stan or Fred.

Hugo Hugger in Downers Grove (PH 630.971.8621).

Forget Hugo. We don't have enough time to tell you how he screwed up my 1986 325.

I liked Forest Park Foreign Auto Repair. Vladimir.

How did you cope with such a loss?

Yes. Last I saw you, you had tears in your eyes describing it.

My 2002 gets uglier as the years go by. But I can't get rid of it. I remember Dan at Gearhead commandeered it once as he had his eyes on buying it. He took it away and as I watched him driving up the block, I realized I could not sell it. No reason to. I can do a good amount of work on it myself and the money I'd get for it wouldn't change anyone's lifestyle. Outstanding driver, needs paint. Closest thing to driving a go cart that you ever experience . . . assuming you are not driving a go cart.

It wasn't that expensive of a loss, buy yourself some better vodka.

Well. No. I have a sick wife, apparently. Although I suppose we could drink on the porch. It's warm enough.

I know you're flying solo. Maybe we could all go to t.a.'s and crash his exclusive poker party.

Ronkas - you're solo.

I always think that being home alone without obligations is awesome....until I'm actually home alone without obligations.
