Kiwanis Clubs to Pass out Peanuts Sept. 28th, 29th
Peanut Day organizers hope commuters will brake for peanuts

The Kiwanis Club of Glen Ellyn and other local Kiwanis members will be visible at local intersections and and at some participating businesses around Glen Ellyn passing out their packages of roasted peanuts. Organizers hope that when folks see the Kiwanis bright orange vests and jaunty caps, they will donate generously.

The club looks toward this event to support their efforts in local service projects and charitable endeavors. The Kiwanis Club of Glen Ellyn has been a mainstay in public service since their start in 1954.

Those who throw a dollar or some coins in the bucket on Peanut Day are confident that their donations will be utilized wisely. The Kiwanis Club of Glen Ellyn sponsors local scholarships, delivers Christmas to needy families, supports local food pantries, and sponsors numerous other local charitable efforts.

Kiwanians and Key Club members, the youth volunteers of Kiwanis, along with the Kiwanis Aktion Club, a club for adult members with special needs, will stand in front of grocery stores and retailers. Kiwanians will also be stationed at certain key intersections in town and the Glen Ellyn train station. If you miss spotting a Kiwanis volunteer and wish to donate, individuals and businesses are still welcome to underwrite a case of peanuts, with a suggested donation of $30 for each case of 100 packages of Peanuts.
