Alden Courts of Waterford, Aurora, IL. and Family Centered Hospice are hosting a Bereavement Art Therapy Workshop August 16, 2008, from 9:00 am until Noon at the Alden Horizon Senior Living Community, 2000 Randi Drive, Aurora. The “Legacy Art Workshop” is a unique event which allows individuals to create a memory box keepsake to hold favorite photographs, hair locks, jewelry, and other small memorabilia of a loved one.

The workshop will be lead by Robinlee Garber, MA, ATR-BC, LCPC. Robinlee is a noted clinical therapist, who works at Linden Oaks Hospital in Naperville. Garber provides clinical counseling services on the inpatient geriatric psychiatric unit at the hospital. She is also well renowned for her expertise in art therapy counseling for hospice patients and their families in both home and residential settings and for leading bereavement workshops for families in diverse settings.
The program is being offered to the community for a nominal fee of $10, which will cover the cost of supplies, refreshments and instruction. Residents and family members of Alden Courts of Waterford and families of hospice patients served by Family Centered Hospice are invited to join the event free of charge.
Reservations are required for the Legacy Art Workshop, as seating capacity is limited. Please call Jessica at (630) 851-1466 or Jeffrey at (630) 317-3341, to reserve seating by August 8.
