THE DUPAGE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA PRESENTS
“SWEET FRAGRANCES OF FRANCE” SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 9th, 2008 The DuPage Symphony Orchestra continues its 54th season with “Sweet Fragrances of France” on Saturday, February 9th, 2008, 8:00 p.m. at Pfeiffer Hall, 310 East Benton Avenue on the campus of North Central College in Naperville. Another distinctive collaboration with the North Central College Women’s Chorale -- an ensemble noted for its warm, expressive sound and innovative concert programming -- forms the centerpiece of this luxuriant concert. The NCC Women’s Chorale plus soloists Sharon Quattrin and Victoria VerHoven join the DSO to present Debussy’s La damoiselle elue, an exquisite setting of Pre-Raphaelite verse by Dante Gabriel Rosetti. Highlights from Berlioz’s passionately beautiful Romeo et Juliette and Faure’s exquisite Pelleas et Melisande round out this very special program of 19th-century French Romantic repertoire. Single tickets ($18/adults, $15/seniors and $8/children) are available by calling the Pfeiffer Hall Box Office at (630) 637-1003. Discounted subscription season tickets are also available for the remainder of the 2007-2008 concert season. Additional information about the DuPage Symphony Orchestra and its current concert season is available at dupagesymphony.org . |
