Well I didn't find out until after my sons came home today, but Parkview didn't have power in part of the school for the entire school day today.
Should they have been in session if this was happening? I completely understand the North side of town given the damage and the number of trees down that may have made transport to school dangerous and difficult. "Sorry folks, park's closed. Moose out front shoulda told ya." |

South, usually the rule of thumb is that if the bathrooms are operating, school can be in session. If both you and Mrs. South worked outside of the home, you would be glad to have the kids at school.

Mrs. South works outside of the house and I am in school myself, so the kids are flying solo during the day. So the concern of the school being open or not does deeply concern us. However, the probelm I see with having some sort of power failure in the school building comes up when you may have no lights in a classroom or intercom use, especially if we woould have had another round of storms on Friday like they had predicted. I know they have no computer service from this issue.
I have not checked this morning, but as of last night (Saturday) the school and two blocks of house still have not had power restored and have had no promises until late Monday afternoon. "Sorry folks, park's closed. Moose out front shoulda told ya." |
