Anyone else catch the commercial on during one of todays afternoon football games (can't remember which one, as dh and my son were watching, not I). They got really excited because there was a commerical on for the Big Ten schools (I believe, I will have to check our DVR as we caught it on tape) and it featured about 3 or 4 young boys in different areas playing football (I think they kept repeating the phrase "I am...".)

Anyways, one of the boys featured was a Gold Eagles player (or an actor in an Eagles uniform) and it clearly said "Glen Ellyn" on the front of his jersey and it was definately Newton Park.

I am just a lurker on this board but thought I would see if anyone else saw this. I thought it was pretty exciting and was surprised I hadn't heard about it (my son even plays for the Eagles).

Absolutely sure, it showed a few clips where the upper field with the "press box" (if you will) was in plain sight. There was also a clip of the "Golden Eagles" player sitting in the bleachers below the press box. I did catch the commercial on our DVR so I was able to re-wind and watch it a few times. It was definately Newton Park.

Homegrown, meet Fish. If you misspell a word in your post, Fish will definitely point it out in an indirect way, which is often completely missed by the intended target.

As for the commercial, my sister called me yesterday and told me she saw it during the Iowa v. Iowa State game.


Just watched your clip - that is very cool. The boys are not actors as I recognize number 10 - (Great job, TJ!!). This is WAY better than those painful to watch and listen to "rapper/big stage" commercials the Big 10 ran the past two seasons.

Someone in Golden Eagles must have a Big Ten marketing or Teamworks Media connection.

Thanks for the insight regarding Fish. I just lurk on this forum occasionally (which I will probably go back to doing). I had a busy day with water in the basement and didn't realize I was spelling the word wrong (Spelled it wrong in the second post, too...I like to be consistent).
